Deepershades Radio

Deepershades Radio is an underground deep house institution built around Lars Behrenroth's long-running show. Founded around 2003 and rooted in Los Angeles, the station has built its reputation by trusting its selectors rather than chasing the algorithm. The sound sits in soulful, jacking, sub-laden deep house with the warmth of a Detroit basement and the swing of a New York loft. There is no attempt to be everything to everyone, and that is the point. On the programming side, Behrenroth's weekly Deepershades broadcast remains the anchor, joined by guest mixes from artists who orbit the deeper end of the spectrum. Put it on for the second pour of the evening, when the room starts to thin out and the bassline takes over.
